Burqa is not a freedom nor a human right, according to ECHR.
how isnt it freedom? lol . we re all conditioned to wear certain clothes. if a woman feels more comfortable in hiding her look/beauty then let her be. the face is also an important focus of beauty , so you can cover yourself all but the face and many men would still be attracted to you and find you cute. this can be ok for some women but it isnt for few others.
it wont be that different than forcing women to wear mini shorts while walking in the public. you d feel the same as these muslim women do when they cant wear the niqab

The same reason we care if anyone wears a mask in public, unless it's a street entertainer.

    Way off-base.
Women believe in hijab and niqab, and even burqa. I don't like the blue burqa because of its color, but I have no objection to hiding the eyes. I have distinctive eyes so if I was living amongst Muslims, I would prefer to wear it.

Not every woman likes attention. In a society where men cannot respect women and keep their gazes lowered in respect for her, she must cover up and deny their eyes from feasting on her.

It's not the same. She can still be a modest Muslim by wearing just a hijab. Or are the Muslim women who don't wear a niqab considered sluts and fake Muslims?
They need to be identifiable, that's all.

Both your demand to censor and our demand for the niqab stem from the same root. You wish the state provides a "hijab" for you in the guise of legislating punitive moves.

Burqa is just a piece of fabric...you ironically demand it's banning by seeking a government " hijab" which is what relinquising your dress code Rights will translate to. More laws (a kind of Hijab) is less freedom.

More security (a kind of Hijab) = less freedom

Difference is our hijab is for modesty... your hijab is to punish Muslims, which you don't have the integrity or bravery to admit. And out of this cowardice you will limit your own freedoms when you could just say you want Islam banned and solve all your problems.

    Farce.
What are you fucking retarded ? Europe is not America with our constitution and Bill of Rights . What are you trying to Americanize Europe ? Britain, Denmark, France, Germany etc... don't even pretend to have free speech etc...

Fact is France is the first one to ban the burqa, in Europe, I think because of the policy of Laïcité and the fact the beret is culturally French but the Burqa is not.

    Remember the purpose of the Burka;

"And say to the faithful women to lower their gazes, and to guard their private parts, and not to display their beauty except what is apparent of it, and to extend their headcoverings (khimars) to cover their bosoms (jaybs), and not to display their beauty except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband's fathers, or their sons, or their husband's sons, or their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their womenfolk, or what their right hands rule (slaves), or the followers from the men who do not feel sexual desire, or the small children to whom the nakedness of women is not apparent, and not to strike their feet (on the ground) so as to make known what they hide of their adornments. And turn in repentance to Allah together, O you the faithful, in order that you are successful"

    — Qur'an, Surah 24 (An-Nur), Verse 31

I am always surprised when I see females trying to defend the wearing of the burka and other head coverings. It is a symbol of female oppression and male domination of females. Wake up and cut the crap girls.

Freedom presupposes a certain level of behavior. John Adams indicated that when he said that America's government could function only with a moral and religious people. So in a sense, yes, freedom is for a certain kind of people. Islam abuses Western freedoms and makes them unworkable. The two cannot coexist.
