Although it is true that most British and French people can pass pretty easily in each others' countries, I'd say about 20-25% don't in either direction. Generally, the Brits who look either uniquely British Isles or heavily Nordic don't easily pass as French, while the French who look heavily Mediterranean, Alpine or Dinaric don't easily pass as British.

A thread about Normandy on here showed many pictures of Normans "https://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?197195-Common-Norman-phenotypes" tbh they looked similar to Bretons, i think Pas de Calais has more in common with Britain unsurprisingly but even there is still quite distinctly unbritish looking compared to Flanders Belgium.

I don't agree, they look distinct, I thought about people from Pas de Calais but there are many people of partial flemish ancestry there, so they tend to look more like Belgians/Southern Dutch.

Giroud is heavily dinaricized, that's why can't pass well in UK.

Bretons have lot of Alpine types which is not common in Britain.

I think out of all NW France regions, closest to Brits would be maybe Normans.

Yes, it's a bit odd that Normans tend to be more similar to British than Bretons, despite the latter being genetically closer. I'd put it down to shared Germanic & Continental Celtic ancestry that the Bretons have apparently little of, at least Germanic. Bretons are like long isolated Insular Celts, and may represent what many pre-Germanic Southern British were like.
