Do you think Israel is first world meets most of your points?Originally, a third world country is one that was too poor to be on either side of the Cold War.
My definition of Third World is as follows:
1. Any country that is either black or brown.
2. Countries without complex economy, even rich countries where oil is 99% of the exports are third world.
3. Countries where there is widespread poverty, corruption and usually some kind of war going on.
4. Countries where people live in their own filth, where there is no government but groups or factions running the country.
5. Countries which literally have 1/3 - 1/2 of the population living in shacks with no heating and a job that doesn't pay over 2 bucks a day.
6. When the government refuses to provide transparency, and then attacks the credibility of its critics to justify doing so.
7. Receives countless money to develop their countries with some of the latest technology.
8. High crime, low trust, no efficiency.
9. Average person makes like two dollars a day. Meaning even if they paid 50% of their income in taxes they'd give the government $350 a year.
10. Countries where foreign corporations keep the profits made of their resources.
11. Leader pays himself a lot out of the treasury. Receiving cuts of drugs/arms/human trafficking. Money from allowing mineral mining.
12. No basic infrastructure, wooden scaffolding, malnutrition, no fixed rules on the road, extortion at every opportunity, children at school drinking from dirty taps whilst the teacher's lawn was watered with sprinklers.
