I am glad for ÖVP. At least Kurz has some rational thinking unlike others....
I know some things he said can affect Hungarian immigrants too mostly in Burgenland, but let's wait and see. At least he agrees with not letting in more people from all over the world.

Austria is welcome in V4, anytime, hope they will really join. I would like to see Merkel's, Macron's face though if that happens

European Rabbis welcome new Austrian Chancelor

Conference of European Rabbis hopes Austrian government will protect freedom of religion despite rise of far-right party in polls.

The Conference of European Rabbis (CER) welcomed the victory of Sebastian Kurz, the head of the center-right Austrian People’s Party, in the Austrian national elections Sunday, but expressed concerns over the rise of a far-right party.

Kurz, who at 31 will become the youngest head of state of any western nation, hosted rabbis from the CER for a kosher breakfast a year and a half ago. During the breakfast, he gave a speech in which he pledged his commitment to combating anti-Semitism.

Das Wahlergebnis ist erst am Donnerstag mit den Stimmen aus der Briefwahl fertig ausgezählt.

Ich schätze, dass die Grünen doch in den Nationalrat einziehen werden, weil sie bei der Briefwahl traditionell einen hohen Anteil der Stimmen haben.

An der Reihung der drei stimmenstärksten Parteien wird sich kaum etwas ändern, theoretisch könnte die FPÖ vor der SPÖ gereiht sein.

Es scheint, dass viele "traditionelle Grün-Wähler" diesmal aus taktischen Gründen die Kern-SPÖ gewählt haben, um damit eine Mitte-Rechts-Koalition zu verhindern. Dieses Vorhaben ist nicht "aufgegangen"

Es ist möglich, dass der Bundespräsident eine Schwarz-Blaue-Koalition nicht zulässt. Das warten wir mal ab - was sich dann tut

Ich bin normalerweise ein Nichtwähler - diesmal habe ich auch gewählt. Der Grund war folgender: Ich habe die Frau Flora Petry auf FB kritisiert. Es war nur 1 Satz - die KPÖ hat mich beim FB-Portal gemeldet - FB hat mich für 7 Tage gesperrt. Das hat mich veranlasst - ein Zeichen zu setzen und meine Antwort auf die FB-Sperre mit dem Stimmzettel zu geben!

Austrians are for some reason one of the most far rightist european ethnicities, they were always more extremist prone than other Western Europeans. Remember Hitler and Jörg Haider were Austrians too, when Jörg Haider won the elections, other EU countries imposed sanctions on them.
