Only partially. They are an amalgamation of North African and Near Eastern peasant women, Black African men, Vandal and Norman men, Turkmen who came over from Greece, etc. Roman ancestry is surely in the minority of the mix.

Roman genetic input is hard to determine, probably impossible. Also because “a pure Roman type” probably never existed.
They founded and some settled in towns around empire whatever Latin blood was diluited.
    1) Alpine,Dinaric,Mediterranean,Baltic and Nordic should be enough to identify most Europeans.
    2) These are not races, just examples of possible variants. Have fun with them but don’t take it seriously.

On the contrary, Sicilians are Latins and discend mostly from Romans and other Italic peoples like other Italians. Others foreigner invaders are a minority, such as Phoenicians, Normans and Arabs. I save only Ancient Greeks who indeed have had a great impact.

In the beginning of the Roman Empire, at the time Roman armies were only made of men recruited in Italy, the first conquered territories were massively colonised by veterans — the East of Spain, [not yet French] Provence, and to some extent Sicily. But Sicily was already densely colonised by Greeks, which probably limited the impact of Roman settlements.

After the Carthaginians were crushed, Rome became a prosperous Republic, demographics plummeted, the Romans ceased to export their genes and imported populations from all over Europe and the Mediterranean area.

All in all, Sicily must be genetically more Roman than some other provinces, but significantly less than many others.

I'm not saying that Sicily is more "Roman" than for example Lazio or other Central Italian regions still they are more Roman descent than Norman or Arab or whatever else occupied Sicily after the Romans, except maybe A. Greeks.

    Yes.
You obviously know that this is just another troll thread and not a genuine one.

    Fair enough,
And ancient Greeks and Romans were closely related anyway so in some way the Ancient Greek input in Sicily even makes Sicilians more Roman
    in some sense.
