    Kaliningrad, House of Soviets (unfinished).

    Residential building in Moscow.

There, in the capital, an interesting RIA Novosti building lurked. In Soviet times, it was an Olympic press center.

Also in the capital there is a wonderful "house-ship" and it is also a "recumbent skyscraper."

Here is the building of the oncological center of RAMS.

Well, one of the most famous unfinished buildings of the capital is the Khovrinsky hospital.

Now we are moving from Moscow to St. Petersburg. Hotel building "Rus".

And this is the archive of the Navy.

This is a garage cooperative "Vasileostrovets". Yes, garages can look quite interesting.

"Tsentralnaya (Central)" Hotel in the city of Perm built in 1933. Example of early soviet constructivism.

During WW2 in evacuation there lived such persons like Russian Soviet composer Sergei Prokofiev. Soviet Armenian composer Aram Khachaturyan wrote there his most recognized work - music for ballet Gayane.

Now Indian and Bangladeshi students live there. I have nothing against their behavior on the street, but i am afraid to imagine what is inside the building now

Ps/ sorry, i forgot that it is topic about "wonders" and it is just rather average building

You are wrong. Soviet Union is only known for Khrushchyovkas aka commieblocks, that have destroyed the face of all Eastern European towns. It will take a century to remove the shit communists did to our towns. Fuck them all.

My city is full of such beauties, but I won't contribute with pics. If you have seen photos of communist buildings once, you have seen them all.

Said by resident of a country where one of the components of the "American dream" is a plywood house for the price of a Boeing in a lifetime mortgage.

I would love Romania to adopt the house construction techniques from the US. Romania has no issues with high winds but earthquakes, and these lightweight houses can deal with them far better.

These houses are cheap to build and comfortable, and can be as aesthetically pleasing as the architects make them to be (unlike commieblocks which are uniformly horrible). They can be expensive to buy because when you buy a house you also pay for the neighborhood. A good neighborhood (safe, with good schools etc) can easily double the price of a house in the US.

Your knowledge about Soviet architecture is very limited and you shouldn't talk for everyone.

Another big part of Soviet built houses are stalinkas:

Then there were late panel buldings. They are ugly too.
