America is really "right-wing" on most issues compared to Britain. The only thing they're not as right-wing is immigration. They are just as likely as Brits and Germans to say that immigration is a good thing. Germans are a bit off the charts on this question though but still Americans are in that ballpark.
But when it comes to things like sexual morality (Abortion, ss marriage, etc), Americans are more conservative than Brits. No question on things like religiosity (which is linked with sexual morality anyway) -- Brits are among the least religious in the world and Americans are the most religious of all the English-speaking peoples in the world.
Americans also seem to be into patriotic gestures like flag waving and chanting USA! USA!. From my experience, Brits hate that stuff. Now, I was a student in the UK and most of the people I knew were your average uni student - not really a representative sample of the general population. But still, they'd cringe if they saw any such displays of patriotism or nationalism.
So yeah, overall, Americans are quite a bit more right-wing. Not even gonna mention economic issues 'cos then all bets are off. Americans are well to the right of most Brits on matters of economic governance.
