The point she's making is that many women want to have their cake and eat it too. If you have to rely on others to speak up for you, then you acknowledge you don't belong. You can't say you're a 'tough, independent woman' and then run to a guy because other guys are speaking over you or are being mean.

The list isn't about men in a woman's life. It's about men in general. As if men have these obligations to all women. If I see a guy assaulting a woman I'd feel obligated to do something but I'd also feel obligated if the guy was assaulting another man as well (unless there is a weapon involved or a large group of people) but I'm not going to speak up for a woman who won't speak up for herself. That's just bullshit. If men in the office don't respect her then that's her problem. I'm not going to take on her problems. She's a big girl. If she isn't, then she shouldn't be there.

Some of them of this list aren't necessary. Some are just basic human manners and a decent, acceptable behavior.
