    Default are south italians closer to eastern europeans than to central and western one ?

    how do i interpret this map? the eastern european admixture is low in south italians as far as i know.

    They aren't close to either. South Italians are, very arguably, predominantly MENA.

    They are not even on that map though. S. Italians are closer genetically to southern Balkan people than to Iberians. However if you really want a more accurate PCA plot, try find ones created by geneticists.
