Omelettes are nutritious, versatile and incredibly quick to cook, making them a perfect healthy lunch or dinner if you're pressed for time.
But there may be an even faster way of making them, according to a new recipe that requires only a microwave.
A video has revealed that you can make an omelette in a mug and it takes just a minute-and-a-half to cook.

The video shows a unknown man making the easiest ever omelette. He starts by cracking two egg into a clear glass mug

He then whisks the eggs with a fork before adding a little milk. You can add any ingredient to your omelette by the mysterious chef adds chopped red pepper, cherry tomatoes and fresh dill

The video, by Foodlifehacks, shows a chef cracking two eggs into a clear glass mug - though any mug will be fine for the very simple recipe.
He then whisks it with a fork until the yolk and whites combine, and adds a little milk.

The recipe requires you to microwave the egg mix for 1 minute 30 seconds. It will then be perfectly cooked and ready to eat

The omelette looks perfectly moist and is crammed full of ingredients

The mysterious chef next adds his favourite ingredients: chopped cherry tomatoes, chopped red pepper and fresh dill, but you can add any combination of ingredients that you want to flavour your omelette with.

He then stirs it again and puts it in the microwave on high for 1 minute 30 seconds.
The egg mix has been cooked to perfection and the unknown man tucks into his delicious lunch.
It may be the easiest ever egg recipe.

It comes after Shay Cooper, head chef at The Goring Hotel, revealed how to make the perfect eggs each time.
He says you need to use fresh eggs and not too much white wine vinegar for poached eggs, and to whisk eggs before you cook them for scrambled eggs.
He also advises not to use fresh eggs if you want to make yourself a hard-boiled egg.
