Surely there are some lost civilizations all over the planet, some under a lot or rocks and soil, other in the ocean now.

Mexico and South America are truly fascinating historically. It's not only the famous civilizations of the Inca, Maya, Aztec, Olmec that were there, but there were many others, and much older ones. And the most interesting of all, is that the oldest layers in the constructions in the ruins are the most advanced by far, the highest quality and the most impressive. The more ancient civilizations there were more highly skilled than the Inca and the Maya. The well-known sites of Cusco, Machu Picchu, Sacsayhuaman, Ollantoytambo were not originally the work of the Inca, but they were Pre-Inca. We still don't know who created them with the impressive polygonal masonry that have been cut with laser-like precision.. matched nowhere else on the planet. It was certainly not the work of the Inca. The Inca also didn't possess the tools to make them. The Inca constructions are on top of the older ruins and next to them, and their quality is far inferior. Don't believe what you read on Wikipedia regarding this.
