Within Europe, what is a more important source of identity: social class or ethnicity?

Social class regardless of place on this Earth. Social class and values go hand in hand. Yesterday I saw two old men (in their 50s or early 60s) fighting in the middle of the high way. They literally stopped in the middle of the highway to fight. They didn't bother to pull off the road to fight. The way they were dressed indicated they were on the lower end of the socio-economic status.

Fortunately no one got hurt. I arrived late to the scene. I thought it was funny at first seeing two old men rolling around on the highway until the one who was able to get on top and hold the other down raised his arm to reveal he had an iron rod. It went from being funny to 'Oh no. He's going to kill him.' Fortunately he didn't hit the guy and the fight ended there.

I can't imagine two guys from a higher socio-economic status rolling around in the middle of the highway. The ability to control your emotions to be able to think of the potential consequences is lacking the lower down the socio-economic ladder you go.

We're at a stage of civilizational decay. Rootless cosmopolitans, homo economicus, are dominant.

Maybe in kekistan, not in most of the world. The richest and most powerful persons usually have done or are doing something extremely shady like drugs/oil smuggling. And you know how things work in this area of profession.

I don't think there's any place where social classes exist anymore, except India maybe.

I'm not speaking of the 'richest and most powerful' people. The vast majority of people in the middle and upper class don't have any real power. My accountant isn't dealing meth on the side. My doctor isn't selling heroin from his back door.
