I've been watching a shitton of youtube since basically 2010 when I used to watch cod MW2 vids. Youtube is really a money maker but today it depends more on partnerships and sponsors as before you could make a decent living with just 100k subs just from youtube. It used to pay around 1.5 dollars pr. 1k views, but since there is a huge inflation in views since then, the money pr. views is basically worthless, but the inflation of views also attracts a shitton of advertisers. A lot of youtubers are filthy rich. Richer than most people think. Pewdiepie for example is a millionaire and has a yearly salary by now of around 15-17 million dollars.

I don't understand Pewdiepie's popularity. I don't understand the popularity of the youtubers posted in the OP or any of the others I've come across. It's all very dull.
