The Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published an updated list of countries that have recognized Kosovo, Tanjug reported on Friday.
The agency cited the Pristina-based Albanian language daily Koha Ditore, which writes that Nigeria and Uganda have been removed from the list – and that Pristina never received their recognition notes.
These alleged recognitions were announced in 2011 and 2012 by Behgjet Pacollli, who now serves as Kosovo’s foreign minister. This was happening during the second term of then PM Hashim Thaci.
Pacolli was also announcing Mali’s recognition, but that country was never included in the official list.
On Thursday, the newspaper said that nine years after making the declaration of independence, Kosovo does not know how many countries have recognized its “statehood.”
All this comes after Suriname informed Serbia that it was revoking its recognition of Kosovo.
