Does anyone on here take, or have taken in the past, barbiturates (Seconal, Tuinal, Amytal, Nembutal, Butisol, etc.) for sleep ? If so, what were your experiences ?

Nevermind. My doctor wrote me a prescription for Seconal and I just recently had it filled.

I'm often suffering from insomnia. A little cognac/vodka before sleeping usually helps.

I'm not supposed to drink alcohol because of the medication I'm on. I take a anti-depressant for depression/ocd/anxiety, a benzo for anxiety, and a barbiturate for sleep. These meds don't mix well with alcohol to say the least, the consequences of which can be lethal.

Seconal works wonderfully. I got 7 to 8 hours of sleep last night. It's a miracle medicine.

My username may startle you but ironically I have partial jewish descent, it's my jewish neuroticism at display here. I don't care about this forum but the reason why I am replying to you is that I have a strong stance against psychiatry and when I saw this post I really felt compelled to respond to warn you against this dangerous action of taking multiple psychiatric medication which could cost your life. I been down in the same path taking psychiatric drug like you and coming off of it changed my life for the better. There is no reason that you should be on a dangerous cocktail of psychiatric drugs, it will only make you worse and fuck up your head. Just read this article about poly pharmacy and how its deadly.

If you take the right path I strongly recommend to ask your psychiatrist to help you to wean off those drugs safely to prevent any withdrawal effect and to prevent any relapse.
