Your thoughts on Sweden?

Never visited but Sweden sounds like a beautiful country with beautiful people.
But I do think that they doomed themselves by letting all of the refugees into their country. Even if they don't see all of the consequences now they will see it in the feature. It's not only sweden.. I feel the pity on these countries.
BTW from what I know the swedish government is very anti-israeli and pro arab-muslim. I wonder if the citizens are like that too.

Sweden is a pretty nice country that offers people a really great quality of life. Sure, you pay a lot of taxes here, but at least it is according to how much you earn, though there are taxes on goods and services as well. However, taxes on consumption are heavier on alcoholic beverages, cigs, restaurants, etc., and you pay less taxes on books, medicine, certain foods among other more needy things, so it is quite reasonable as well.

The summers are awesome with temperatures usually ranging from 20 to 30, while winters can be quite cold (not my opinion, it's a fact

) and boring (my opinion) unless you do cool activities like skiing, nature adventures or if you visit the country as a tourist for a week or two. University is free, just like health care. You also get social benefits if you become unemployed. In the major cities, you find a great variety of places to eat, to visit, to shop at.

There is also little crime here, and rape statistics are not as high as to put Sweden on the world's second spot for victims of rape. Many forms of sexual harassment are counted as rape here, not just violent sexual penetration like in many other countries. Women feel far safer here than in many other countries in Europe or elsewhere.

There is also parental leave for moms and dads and it lasts up to 480 days! Vacation time is also far more extensive than it is in other countries. We get 4 paid summer weeks + 1 week during a random time of the year. Speaking about work, the environment and hierarchy in the work place is not as tough as it is in other countries. Bosses usually have a lot of respect for the people who work for them.

There are some things that I don't like about Sweden or things I miss in Brazil like for example the laid back nature and friendliness of most Brazilians (Swedes are friendly, but not in the same way), the refugee crisis, excessive taxes (more than half of the GDP is taxed :/ ), some racist incidents here and there and of course, the winter... But overall, this is a pretty good, high HDI, high GDP per capita country. Good to live in, good to visit.

Honestly, the citizens mostly do not care about it except for a large percentage of Muslims and far-leftists who always side with the Palestinians. I believe the government is mostly pro-Palestinian because of those groups. There is no group that is profoundly pro-Israel in Sweden the same way there are groups supporting Palestinians, so they win a lot more support in the parliament.
