There was a genetic study done on the Danes recently.

Denmark presented genomic affinity with primarily neighboring countries with overall resemblance of decreasing weight from Britain, Sweden, Norway, Germany and France.

Denmark received substantial admixture contributions primarily from neighboring countries in the past 10 centuries with overall influence of decreasing weight from Britain, Sweden, and Norway.

In the GLOBETROTTER analysis, these two components were identified as admixture contributions from the Swedish/Norwegian and the British clusters (Figure 3B and Table S2). In regard to the British contribution, however, this is actually more likely to reflect admixture in the opposite direction, i.e., from Denmark to Britain (Leslie et al. 2015).

The most notable observation of our study is the high genetic homogeneity of the Danish population, possibly reflecting geographically uninterrupted gene flow, further facilitated by the extended network of sea-based commerce and traveling (Derry 2000).

Surprisingly they are more similar to British and then Sweden. This is using ADMIXTURE analysis.

Well I am. I would have expected more admixture from Sweden and Norway. I would have also thought the Danes closer to the Germans. I hope more genetic studies like these FineSCALE ones are done on countries.

Its easier than it should be to see if someone is a dane or swede.
Since scandinavian countries have been at war with eachother (swe,dk) so many times, you think they would pretty much look a like but they dont, this explains it.

Danes to me look a bit more German but I'm no expert as far as that goes. People might disagree with me.
