Do you have legislation for traumatic guns? I know in Russia it's much easier to get and with permit you could carry it anywhere with few exceptions like planes.

If you want to put it that way....then yes. But Finland is not alone. Whole Scandinavia is the same.

Plus one addtion to my earlier post....so called hunting guns (like rifles etc.)

All the things which I wrote above are still valid plus these....

* you will first have to be a member of one hunting club (to be able to hunt/use/need that gun).
And to get a member of one club you'll need to own some forests (they will accept you only if club will benefit something.... they can use your land for hunting). If you can not offer that; they won't.

* you will need to pass a shooting exam. And if I remember rightly renewed it after every x years.

Don't think you understood what I was talking about. In Russia there is variety of non-lethal weapons available to civilians and law enforcements. They shoot rubber bullets.

Yes, I did. I just did't go on that. Those are not legal here, not even your electro shock weapons (which are very common there?).

Finland's custom stations (in east border) are full of those...taken away from just normal Russians tourists who are arriving to Finland. Russians will not even hide them as they believes they are same way legal here as there.

But of course...most likely one could find those ''under the disk'' here too. Still using one (for self defense)...and if you would get catched (later on)...you would be in big problems...bigger than your attacker.

I used an expendable baton once. Extremely effective weapon, and simple. Just some steel cylinders and a handle.
