Default Turkish PM: "We are Europeans!"

Turkish PM implied that Turkey is politically, culturally, geographically European and wants to become a member of EU still. This is reality!

he said geographically and SOMEHOW culture wise (his words didn't change it) we're European.

Well he's wrong. But this is politics. I don't expect Binali to give a lecture on our culture, history etc. Politically Binali is correct (if our aim is still to get into EU).

That's what I always said on this forum. And this is like he said a reality not something that is made up for politics or trolling? Yes we can be Asian or Middle Eastern but I don't think a Turk would feel less stranger in those regions than Europe.

Only reasonable solution to Turkish EU saga, is to allow Turkey to become member, but keep them out of Schengen.

Why is everyone thinking half of the country will flow to Europe? We don't want this to live there. The ones who want already live.

This is obviously not reality. There are lots of cultural differences between Europe and Turkey. Well maybe except for Greece but they're notorious culture thieves so they don't count.

Our culture is mostly Turco-Persian tradition with some elements from Levantine, Caucasus, Balkan and Byzantine cultures. However, these cultures, except for Byzantine, are mostly reduced to geographical places. For example Gaziantep is culturally more levantine influenced than say Iğdır which is culturally more Caucasian influenced than Edirne which is culturally more Balkan influenced than other parts of Turkey.

Because last time you were invited as a "guest workers" you broke the gates and settled there for eternity.
No one with right mind would want something like that again.

No one stole your culture. Anatolian Greeks brought Turkish culture here after the population exchange of 1923. That was their culture, they didn't stole it. So don't lump all Greece with Anatolian Greeks when you talk about cultural similarities.

Nobody took them as guest workers. Guest workers can't be citizens.
