Occupation of your ancestors: what was the most surprizing for you?

Most of my ancestors were village people, they were farmers, cottagers, millers, , etc.
Only few of them were town-dwellers.

One of them, my great6grandfather born in 1720s at town Březová n. S. was a currier.

My great-great-grandfather was a councilor for the city of Valladolid for many decades, until his death. that was a surprise

Many of my ancestors were warriors that fought against Ottomans and Serbs.

My Great Grandfather's brother fought in many wars against Serbs.

I’ve got a pretty varied ancestry in terms of occupations, everything from Scottish nobles to Venetian peasants, but based on what I could gather, it would seem that most of my folks were lower class town-dwellers, farmers and some were in the military, including one infamous ancestor whom I know was a mercenary.
