The 1790 naturalization act of congress just refers to whites that can become citizens.

They were worried in the early days about German speakers outnumbering the English speakers. It never happened and they assimilated into speaking English. As long as you were white and spoke English and joined the culture you were fine for the most part. The issues arose when people tried changing fundamental American culture.

Germans shared a religion with Americans. Muslims don't, so they're unlikely to assimilate.

I wouldn't object to it. I also believe gun ownership should be restricted to those in the military and police force because the majority of Americans dont need to be anywhere near a firearm.

I'm a cultural nationalist. So a non-white person can definitely be a real American if they're culturally like us (i.e. Dinesh D'Souza, Ben Carson)

But some monolingual Hispanophone or veiled Moslem isn't a real American, no matter what their passport says.
