It has nothing to do with racial segregation, stop overanalyzing stuff. If you can afford to live in a WASP neighborhood, no one will stop you from buying a home there. Why else are there so many Indians living in Santa Ana and Newport Beach, or Persians and Armenians in Glendale or West Hollywood?
It's the same case in Northern California, in Illinois, New Jersey, Texas, and every other area.

Which exactly proves my theory in the OP. The USA offers more opportunities for immigrants and ethnic minorities to become wealthy, educated etc. than does Brazil, but Whites still won't necessarily wish to live among them. By contrast, Brazil is more snobbish and offers fewer opportunities, but once people surpass such barriers then integration and mixing are (arguably) easier.
