This question has been on my mind for quite some time, especially considering what is happening with Hollywood celebrities getting busted for misconduct and such.
Can you separate the art from the artist?
For example, I think Kevin Spacey is a good actor, and I enjoyed many of his movies. A buddy of mind suggested that I watch House of Cards, which I have been putting off for quite some time. After hearing the allegations against him, and him coming out in a very shady way, I got put off and decided to not watch HOC for now.
Then again, I listen to a lot music from artists that have done some questionable things. Problem is, I and many others aren't going through all of the artists history on Wikipedia and determine not to listen to them because he/she has said racist or homophobic remarks, etc...
I don't think artists should be looked at as some role model for the younger generation to follow, but some artists do this to themselves sometimes when they talk about politics and pull moral rank on people in power.
