So we discussed genetically, and can pretty much agree that northern Greece is closer to Balkan countries, southern Greece is intermediate between Balkan and Sicilian, and that islanders are closer to Sicily.

But appearance?

I think that, according to Sikeliot, the Greeks who don't look South Italian, have to look Balkan instead, and that's where he's wrong and threads like these don't make sense.

I tend to view it as there is southern Italy which is defined by Calabria/Sicily and then there are Apulians who are basically transplanted Greeks so of course they look Greek. I know this is not entirely based in fact, but it has some merit behind it.
