Default How far back in time have you managed to trace your family tree?

Approximately to which years have you traced your ancestors. You may also write from which regions they mostly come from, what religion did they have and of what ethnicity were they? Also what are your goals for the future.

I am heavily into expanding my family tree and so far I managed to trace some of the branches of my family towards the very beginning of the 19th century, my estimation would be between 1800-10s. So far the wide majority seem to be from historical Lower Hungary, and wide majority also seem to have been ethnic Hungarians, while a few have been German. It seems to me also that all were Roman Catholics. My goals for the future is to know all my great great grandparents (only two more missing), and some other would be to manage to arrive to the late 18th century at least with one of the branches.

Anyone also cares to share the surnames in their family tree? Mine are these: Enyedi, Kókai, Mészáros, Kormos, Dudás, Antal, Müller, Nyúl, Tóth, Sili, Lajos, Zsíros, Messmer, Csontos, Linder, Apró, Hegedűs, Dékány. As seen, most of Hungarian and few of German origin. I have a few other surnames, but until I can't confirm that they were my direct ancestors, proven by documents, then I treat them with unclear status.

People who has ancestors from Czechia (Bohemia and Moravia, part of Silesia) usually can trace their ancestry back to 1680s.
But it depends on the area - in some catholic parishes were older books lost because fires or wars.
For example oldest church registers for Frenštát starts in 1721.
I am very lucky that baptismal/birth registers for my home area starts in 1627 (wedding and death records starts later since 1680s), and my paternal great8grandfather Václav was born on 5 April 1651.
I know also names of his parents but their birth nor death records are not anywhere.

According ethnicity my paternal ancestors were Czechs from Moravia, but there were also connection to Moravian Germans and Silesian Poles.
According religion since 1620s (30 Years War) until 1780s (Edict of Tolerance) they were Roman catholics officially, but de facto Protestants (Lutherans and Czech Brethren).
Maternal ancestors were Czechs and Germans from Moravia and Bohemia, and Roman Catholic

Never forget about the tens of thousands of Czechs that were driven from Bohemia during the Thirty Years Wars and the Hussite wars before that. I’m a Boehm for a reason

Surprisingly some rednecks have pretty extensive records regarding family history. I can trace back to the Battle of Hastings and my Middle Eastern lines all go back fo Israel, as in the old Israel.

Family names: Halevi, Horowitz, Beneveviniste or some shit, DeMedici, Alberti, Washington, Lee, Randolph, Jefferson, Bassano, Stuart, DeTorres, Fonda, Rhys, Coode, Kelly, Thomas, Ryves
