Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.
Even if this were hard--that is how it is ! Assuredly, however, by far the harder fate is that which strikes the man who thinks he can overcome Nature, but in the last analysis only mocks her. Distress, misfortune, and diseases are her answer.

1596. Could have gone further possibly, but a local city/town library with documents was destroyed in the Second World War, destroying the records forever.

You seem to have Hungarian nobility blood in you from all over Historic Hungary, even from the most eastern part, Székelyföld. I'd wish to also finally have a breakthrough on my majority Hungarian bloodline, but I'm so far stuck in the early 19th century with them. Can I ask you around which year you can attest your first Hungarian ancestor?

The farthest I've been able to trace back is the Norman conquest of England that's on my mother's side my father's side I've only been able to go back a couple generations when my ancestors arrived at Ellis Island in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
I have traced my maternal line back to ~1695. Paternal line a lot more recent, 1836
