Any Hungarian who can help me with Asbóth surname? Does it have germanic origin as I read? where should I look into it...

Just register for free and use this site, it has amazing records from Hungarian sources: https://www.familysearch.org/search

On the other hand Asbóth surely is a Hungarian surname. You should definitely find out at least the full names of some of your great grandparents and where they were born, and then go to the local national archives where that location was under, usually the current county seats. After going through only a few old birth and marriage manuscripts you will surely become addicted to archive research, and then your goal will be to go more back in time.

As seen, most of Hungarian and few of German origin. I have a few other surnames, but until I can't confirm that they were my direct ancestors, proven by documents, then I treat them with unclear status.
I have been having some great success in researching my ancestors recently, and basically I managed to reach my first real goal, which was to manage to go at least back to the 18th century, and now I know for certain people that were born around the 1780s. Next to my confirmed Hungarian and German ancestry, based on the surnames, now I can also be certain that I have a 6th generation Hungarianized Tót/Slovak background, dating to 1840 and before. Plus I also seem to have very old Palóc Hungarian ancestry on one of my 5th generation great grandmother's side. I will now list the rest of the surnames my ancestors had next to what I wrote initially: Kéregi, Barta, Janík, Kovalík, Szabó, Pašek, Klein, Csulik, Dallos, Waldner, Kubik, Harangozó.

I found out recently on 23andMe that I was 27% non Ashkenazi, with the bulk of that being northern euro.
So I hit the ancestry websites.
Looks like my maternal granddad was fully gentile, and I did trace his mother to the Scottish clan Davidson.
Still don't know who my maternal great grandad is.
Tracing ancestry is annoying and tedious work and I really don't care for it at all.

From my mom side, 1850 more or less. Literally all Italian (Milano, Mantova and Napoli) but one side came from Slovenia - one part of the family is Friulian and this Slovenian lineage adapted their surname to stay in Italy - maybe before 1866.

From my father side half is Italian (all Venetian); the other side is far more complicated. It seems my family (grand grandfather) was Morisca, but at some point they returned to Morocco (at Rif) and came to Brazil after. Here they mixed with Colonial (pardo). The grand grandmother side...shit. Colonials mixed with Central Asians. I'm almost sure they were Turkmen, but can be Uzbek, Qashqai, Karakalpak or even Tajik. No way to know.

What a most oddest combination, and I don't mean in any offensive way. Brazil is one of the most overlooked multiracial experiments in the world, the level of mixing between not only ethnicities but also races in Brazil is quite hard to understand to us Europeans.

Certified Cracker? Are YOU my cousin!!!!????

I have Washington in my family tree too.... (Yes, as in President Washington) by way of Lanier....

The farthest my personal tree goes is to the 1500s, In England.... Tudor dynasty.

Some of my aunts have done much more research. I just don't have the patience.

By the way- everyone has royal lines in their tree, and most of those have already been charted by someone, somewhere. So if you happen to link onto a royal line then you can go way, way back.
