Early 1600s. Somerset,England.
The further you go back, the less accurate it gets. You have adoptions, errors, women lying about paternity, etc.

There was some ridiculous thing.... OneWorldTree... a while back that cobbled together everybody's contributions to make one massive family tree. It went back to Adam and Eve, I kid you not. Of course it was not legit, but it was fun to rifle through.
There was a Jewish branch somewhere way back on my tree, so I followed it back as far as it would go. Sure was interesting

My direct paternal ancestors unfortunately are a tough nut to crack, I only have them traced back to 1745 Scotland.
Most of the lines on my tree are traced to the 1600s at least, though a few I am stuck in the 1800s.
A smaller few, due to connection to medieval nobility (for example the Woodhull family of Northamptonshire), I have traced back to Charlemagne and beyond, though who can tell how accurate the earlier medieval genealogies truly are.
