And it is thanks to us (Spaniards) that they could use the potatoes and survived thanks to them. We were the ones that brought potatoes from America and introduced them in Europe (like many other things like tomatoes, chocolate, corn, and so on). So, even they are known for the potatoes, and we were the ones that allowed them to have this product (since we brought it here). But I am glad that the Irish are the good people that many of them are. I have good memories with some of them. They are truly much more sociable and have much better sense of humour than the English, for example.

We even have better examples and many times they are unknown for the majority. The discoverer of blood circulation was a Spaniard (miguel Servet). The discoverer of the neuronas and father of today´s neuroscience was a Spaniard (Ramón y Cajal), and lots others that pass unnoticed because they don´t fit in the anglosphere. Just in the Wikipedia list of Spanish inventions you can find many. Also many other things like the "Free market science" or things that said Adam Smith were said previously by the School of Salamanca, several centuries before him, but he is credited with it because he is an anglo.
