Question Why is my Y-DNA Iberian?

Now that's a huge mystery. I knew that I was L617 since I ordered FTDNA R1b SNP Pack.

But recently I ordered two SNPs below L617 at YSEQ, to find out if I belong to the Iberian, the British or to the Eastern branch. I expected either British or Eastern. It turns out that I belong to the Iberian branch, assuming that YSEQ is reliable:

How is it even possible? My surname is Slavic. And historically there were no any Iberians in Poland.

I begin to think that I'm descended from leftovers who stayed behind while others migrated to Iberia. I still have Scottish matches based on 37 STRs, but these can be false matches, unless these Scots are also positive for these Iberian SNPs.

Possibly a Bell Beaker related to the ones who migrated to Iberia that stayed behind.

    Yes.

Another hypothesis is that some R1b-M225 Iberians converted to Judaism and became part of the Sephardic Jewish community in Iberia. After the expulsion from Iberia, they came to Poland. Some Sephardic Jews came to Poland after 1500 AD, but they were few in numbers.

But I don't score any Jewish autosomal admixture, not even 0.1%, so it is very unlikely.

I think I still should have at least a small trace of Jewish autosomal DNA if my Y-DNA is from one of them. I've heard that 23andMe is the best when it comes to detecting Jewish admixture. I tested with FTDNA. Neither FTDNA nor other calculators detect any Jewish admixture.

This hypothesis has also another flaw - no R1b-M225 has been found among Jews so far.

My hypothesis seems more likely considering this last point and the fact that Bell Beaker cultural elements were found in Poland.

My closest matches based on 37 STRs are all Scottish. But they didn't order R1b SNP Pack (so maybe they are false matches):

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chisholm_(surname)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clan_Chisholm

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliver_(Scottish_surname)

    ^^^
So I expected to belong to the British branch, but according to YSEQ I'm from the Iberian branch.

Quite confusing! Unless these Scottish guys also belong to the same "Iberian" branch.

Perhaps some Polack serving Napoleon in Spain kidnapped any beautiful Spanish woman and took her to Polackolandia.

Based on 37 STRs, FTDNA predicts:

"You have a 99.44% probability that you share a common paternal ancestor with Chisholm within the last 24 generations."

Same for the other Chisholm. For Olivers, it is 99.36% and 98.03%.

24 generations = around 600-700 years (25-30 years per generation).

    ==============

These Scottish guys should test if they are also "Iberian" M225 or not.
