    I call myself a Heiden/Heathen. If people want more clarification I give it. For a part because it makes a nice geuzenname.

    I call myself an Odinist. I identify more with Frigga, but could you just imagine saying "I'm a Frigganist" with a straight face? When I say Odinist, people get it more easily. And, I've never been comfortable with say Asatru, or Asatruar. Just me.

    Frigganist!!!! HAHAHAHAHA.....you said it, not me, but I've sure as hell thought it over the years I had a conversation with my father once. I was trying to explain my beliefs and he said "All these years I've been calling you a little frigger and I was right??

    I used to call myself Heathen, but I was deeply bothered by the implication (of the Troth) that calling yourself that limited you to certain folkways. I honor the gods and wights of my ancestors, but I don't feel that the Troth, or the Asatruars, or anyone else, has the right to tell you that "you're doing it wrong." I certainly am "doing it wrong," by their definition, when I blot to Hel. Therefore, I feel more comfortable giving myself a little distance from the 'organized' folks--and Folk.

    So, what do I use? I've taken to calling myself a "Northern Traditions Pagan." That covers ALL the gods and spirits of our Germanic ancestors (not just the ones on somebody's approved list), and also allows me to explore the Celtic traditions of my Irish (and other Celtic) ancestors. I'm pretty sure many people will not like that label, and that's OK. Call yourselves what you want--it's how you behave that matters.

    I tend to use the term Nordisant first sight, is conceptually more accessible to folk of my generation.
