Pigmentation isn't the only important thing to define race. I have seen many Castizos and (rarely) even Triracials lighter than me, it doesn't mean they don't look mixed.

I think it depends on perspective. To me he does not look Italian. I think he looks Arab or Puerto Rican. Brownwashing is common for Italians.

Here is a half Italian and half North African actor that played an Italian in the Titanic movie but as soon as I saw him in 1997 when I went to see the movie I thought he was an Arab with an Italian accent because I never seen an Italian American that looked like him.

I think he wouldnt be even the most exotic italian. Sikeliot posted pictures of Italians are darker and more exotic then this guy. Thats my observation.
