Specify is germany a superpower or only regional power? And was it ever? Was the third reich a superpower, was the holy roman empire a superpower? was the kaiserreich in world war 1 a superpower?

Since the European Union formed and European Central Bank is in Germany and has more German representation than any other country. I would say they are a very powerful political and economic force in the world. I would not call them a super power. They do not have the largest or most advanced military and Russia still has thousands of Nuclear weapons.

Not now. Perhaps in WWII, although Germany was never on the scale of the United States or the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Germany is a great nation and a great power, and continues to be, but it is too small, both geographically and in population, also it came late in the age of exploration and was never able to conquer a giant worldwide empire like the British or the Spanish.
