Since many have depicted Russians as "less European" or "second class Europeans" in recent threads in this forum. Same often applies to Southern Europe.

I would like to see arguments supporting this view, that Russians are either non-European or "less European" than the rest of Europe.

I have personaly always perceived NW Europe as equally European to the rest of the continent, but it seems that many members perceive this area as the only "true European" part of the world.

The Asiatic part of Russia and its cultures are not European for starters. Russia extends all the way to Japan. Only the European part of Russia is European.

in these region "Yugoslavia" took collective Slavic identity after.

Since then these countries are Slavic.

South Slavs are what the name implies SOUTH Slavs mixed with the previous inhabitants of the Balkans. But your predominant ancestry is Slavic much like the Germanic ancestry is Germanic despite the fact nowadays Germans inhabit Celtic lands.

"Russian" is just a political term, Borders of states change, Nations change, people change.. but Slavic indentity, culture and ancestry remains the same.

Also we can understand a lot of Russian language by default, we have many similarities with Russians.

Southern Greeks is the name that applies to people who live in a Southern parts of the Greece, but they are still Greeks.

Greece is the only Hellenic nation in existence.

However, there are DOZENS Slavic nations in existance and we all share a common Proto-Slavic ancestry, and we are all "SLAVS" = Russian, Serbian, Ukrainian.. are just like Tribal names nothing else.
