bullshit. what should they call themselfes? why are you against lumping asians together, they do share many things even genetically. most of southeast asia has ASI like ancestry from negritos a underlayer, they are also darker and more australoid then koreans for example. even southern chinese have some malay ancestry or like that. or austronesian/austro-asiatic etc.

We already do that, even the Proles here in the US.

Arab = Middle Eastern/West Asian

Indian = South Asian

Chinese/Asian = NE Asian + South Asian

Polynesian/Hawaiian = Polynesian

They just group people with the most prominent example of that group. Like Hispanics = Mexicans.

So this gripe should go to the Brits, who seem to classify everything east of the Caucus mountains as "Asian."

In the USA anyone west of Pakistan is just seen as a Middle Eastern, I've never heard anyone here refer to Persians or Arabs as West Asians.

Asian generally just refers to East Asian ching chongs. Indians are just referred to as Indians.
