Sorry to say this, I'm not criticizing you specifically and I speak in general, but passing unnoticed in a country is the dumbest concept ever. Like other European countries, Italy is a melting pot for internal and external movements, and many Italian places have also steadily many foreign tourists or workers, what do you think that Italians spend their time to identify who can pass or not? Most Italians don't just give a fuck about this but it does not mean they would consider anyone who walks down the street to be Italian, even if they were to speak to him in Italian. And until a few generations ago in Italy there was not even the concept of passing as Italian, because everything was focused only on local identities.

I still think it has to be Apulia/Lucania, if the question implies a pan-Greek look that is north to south. I think Calabria/Sicily only look truly similar to the Aegean islands. Genetically Sicily/Calabria to Aegean islands is like Britain to Ireland, but this is not so for mainland Greeks.

But I think Greece is not familiar for someone living in pandania

Fair enough points. I like how objective you are and not resorting to ad hominem like many members on here. It's true that most people in real life (not just in Italy) don't give a damn about who 'passes' or who 'sticks out' in their country or ethnicity. It's only on anthroforums that people have this interest.

That being said, I do see significant phenotypical similarities between Greeks and Italians (except maybe full-blooded Lombards, Venetians, etc).

I say Central-South when comparing to a majority of the Greek mainland. When I see videos of Italians in Abruzzo they look identical to Greeks.
They have the perfect blend of Med, Dinaric and Alpine that match the way Greeks have it. The north is too Alpine and Dinaric while the deep south is too Med. The north is too light while the south is too dark.

But for the Islands I say more south-east Italian and also south-west. Just south in general.
