Numbers of patents won't tell all. Some countries will patent ''all/everything'' (some not so much...sometimes just trying to keep it secret/silence ...if not believing that any patents could cover it enough). Then you patent something, everyone will know about it (as those are public documents). Some countries will not care/respect much about ''western patents''....
There are also lots of patents which have showed to be useless (= ''worthless'').
Plus countries populations are good to keep in minds then looking lists like that.
And last...if we would want to look the present situation bit better (and not mix it to the past) we should look only the patents made by last...let me say...5years period?

Just because Finland is the only country with the word "Fin" in its name doesn't mean that they are the only Finns out there.

Quite right. Probable only the hardest ones (and most lunatics ones) decided to still continue north from Estonia .
