Why don't anthroboards respect Mesopotamia/ns ??

Even in the anthropological and historical discourse Mesopotamia is overlooked, and not studied like say Egypt for example. I believe the main reason is because they were darker skinned and they did not look like Europeans. I believe the original Mesopotamians were pretty dark skinned especially in the Southern regions. The civilizations in Mesopotamia were mostly Semitic rather than Indo-European, and Sumerians were a language isolate. The Semitic Mesopotamians often came from the Arabian peninsula actually, well the Sumerians seemed Iranian neolithic like originally. Plus some say that Mesopotamia had always had interconnection with civilization such as Dilmun in the Arabian peninsula.

Modern day Iraq situation does not really help the situation. It regressed due to 40 years of war by Western powers. However Eurocentrics still want to claim it, same with Turkocentrist and Afrocentrist but it does not have the allure of you will.

During the industrial age it can be argued that historical and archaeological studies of Mesopotamia was a popular subject among experts, and there was the allure that you speak of, again i doubt it has to do with skin colour as Ancient Egyptians were surely swarthier then ancient Mesopotamians, as evidenced by Egyptian hieroglyphics where they drew the Syrians as lighter then themselves for example. And the Sumerians depicted themselves as white skinned and blue eyed. I really believe that this hatred is an anthroforum phenomenon.

As being from the land of Elam and Persia, Mesopotamia always got all the cake, as the oldest Center of civilization, inventors of Civilization changing stuff such as the wheel and writing. But on anthro forums, Mesopotamia gets shitted on constantly and to call someone a Mesopotamian is considered an insult, instead Steppe herders get all the glory, even though they were backwards and uncivilized. Why is that??

yes this is so true, they were the earliest great civilization but no one ever cares about them. i also notice in the youtube comments a lot of people admire the turks and mongols for being good warriors, but good warriors don't do anything but kill innocent people. where as the arabs and persians actually made some scientific and cultural advancements, no one cares as much about them as much as the turks and mongols who only knew how to fight and that's it.

Well the Turks and Mongols were the last ones to leave the Steppes, while most other people were already settled and allocating resources to science and culture for thousands of years, instead Turks and mongols were nomads and were not capable to forge civilizations of their own so instead they excelled in Nomadic hit and run combat because it is the only way to survive on the steppe.

This "muh warrior/conqueror ancestors" is popular on forums like TA due to its battleground atmosphere which there are always clashes between ethnic groups. I didn't see it on other anthroboards.

Also similar things happen on other forums. For example, I saw a guy on Historum who created his own fantasy version of Roman army and he always rant about stuff like if XYZ defeated Romans, then XYZ were just lucky as hell.

I will give you one example Iranian Like being Aryans but hate their Mesopotamian/Desert roots so if someone will like to Insult iranians he will say aryanized Mesopotamians/Bedouins etc .This is all about hitting on mainstream mindset.

Not sure, but many of the anthro-forums tend to have a significant among of White nationalist members where they claim that those ancient middle eastern civilisation that were created by both Afro-Asiatics(Egyptians and Semites) and non-Afro-Asiatic ones like the Sumerians, Hurrians and so on were nothing in comparison to the Indo-European civilisations that came much later. Of course, Indo-Europeans had contributed a lot of things to humanity and so on, but they wouldn't been possible for them to rise to the position of power if it weren't for these indigenous MENA people that set the foundation of human civilisation similarly how Greece set the foundation of western civilisation. I love how many people here tend to make fun of the ancient Natufians as someone who happens to be dark and Levantine looking where in reality they were the ones who pretty much started the beginning of civilisation.

The wheel is definitely of Near eastern origin, and the oldest form of Neolithic writing is from the Zagros mountains in Iran. There is definitely an irony in Slavs not “respecting” Mesopotamia, as Slavs were civilized in the last thousand years, being beaten even by Native American peoples such as the Mayas and Incas, envy is strong in you guys.

Cause Mesopotamians are darker skinned and less Euros looking than those from the Steppes. Also, Elam/Iraq (the modern day lands on Mesopotamia) are relatively backwards.

This. TA and similar places are Eurocentric forums full of insecure people trying to protect their own created identities. Everything that is seen as a ''danger'' is despised or overlooked. Even Turks here act like that.

But in real life or more neutral places (e.g. non racialist based forums or universities) the situation is completely different.
