I don't think the Szekelys were a Turkic people. Everything seems to point toward a Magyar (or Magyarized) origin, including the language. But they're just a bit more distinct from Hungary proper due to being split from them for a while.
Turkic in the region was the Cumans/Pechenegs/Kipchaks/Bulgars. Some did settle in the region but not in Transylvania, mostly south of the mountains in the lowlands, or in the east. Some later were moved to Hungary, and a few went to Bulgaria and Macedonia (there's a town called Kumanovo I think).
However the genetic impact of Turkics in the region is still very small overall. Like only around 4-5% or so in parts of Wallachia and roughly similar amounts in some neighboring countries.

As posted, the current facts show they are Turkic.
I am 100% open to evidence so if you have anything else that dismisses the Turkic evidence in a significant way and actually gives a better idea of origin, then I'd like to see it.
Otherwise the feeling alone means very little.

No Neo-Cuman boy! You don't have genetic or linguistic evidence for the origin of that originally Transdanubian population. Why do you avoid the answer the question about the different (foreign Eastern European & Balkanic) material culture and civilization of your Cumania (Kunság) region?

Magyars are Finno-Ugric. Not Turkic.
With OP reasoning capabilities, Finns are also Turkic.
