It's not only a matters of "light/dark", it's also the tone, undertone.

Abascal has kind of pinkish/pale undertone while you have more an olive one.

The iberian peninsula is a big place. I think people largely underestimate how diverse people can look like even in Portugal which is a small country, let alone in a much bigger country like Spain.
