I'm not Kurdish if that's what you mean. I'm from inside Urfa, from a hanafi turkish family. I don't hide my "true ethnicity". Kurds and Zazas from Urfa are living outside towns, and don't call themselves from Urfa (Urfalı). Urfa was historically part of Aleppo in Ottoman Empire and was inhabited by Aleppan Turkmens and Arabs. Turkish is the spoken language inside Urfa, Urfa dialect is the Aleppan Turkmen dialect, closer to pure Turkish than Istanbul Turkish. Kurds migrated to Urfa much later from around Mosul and Kirkuk (just like they migrated to Central Anatolia, Konya and Kayseri in Ottoman time) and settled outside of Urfa.
My family has no connection to any known Turkmen/Kurdish/Arabic tribe (majority of the people are a member of a tribe), speak Turkish and call themselves Turkish. Since we are not part of any tribe (whether Turkmen or Kurdish) Central Asian ancestry is highly unlikely, and assimilated native pre-islamic christian (Assyrian i guess) is probably making most of me. I don't know, i can't possibly know there is no record for it.
Do some research before making an assumption. A lot of people think Trabzon is a Laz city while it's not, but there are Lazes settled around it.

Turks, Kurds and Arabs live together. Dominant culture is Turkish and Arabic, Kurds live seperate, and don't call themselves Urfalı, instead, they either refer the towns they're from (like Siverek or Suruç) or call themselves Diyarbakırlı. They are also physically and culturally very different, causes segretion between peoples. I don't have anything against Kurds, i'm just telling the truth. If Kurds start to call themselves Urfalı it is fine by me, but it's not going to make Urfa a Kurdish city.
