Family's reputation (just to name one thing) means hell less here....we do't ''protect'' that if something unwanted happens inside of family. Family is not same way holy thing here. If your husband/boyfriend will treat you badly...if will come public case. I'm dame sure that Scandinavians are someway different here vs. more tradional southern Europeans. Incl. Portugals. Another thing is that...women can easily do that (they do't need to care...what their husband will do afterwards). Possible divorce is economically ok solution to them. They are economically secured even then....and if needed society will help them/kids.

What family reputation are you talking about, Portugal is one of the nations in Europe with most divorces. You just can't get past your ways of being condescending towards southern Europeans, as if people in here have to endure domestic violence and can't get a divorce because we are too "poor" to live on our own

By the way, the country you decided to hate from now on, named Portugal, is activily celebrating the centenary of Finland with state honor. Finland flags are raised in the Lisbon town hall and the Finnish flag was project on one of our most emblematic monuments:



There is a ceremony going on with the ambassador of Finland right now and Finnish residents, which make up to one thousand living in Portugal, probably way more than the Portugueses living in Finland. I wonder how many of the other Nordic nations you so love are doing the same.

You can tell what ever you want. That won't change my opinion. So again...let's stop. There are clear culture differencies, and those can be seen everywhere through the societies incl. families. Written comments of Nordic people who have married southern Europeans easily convinced that (or atleast we can see those, if you do't...what comes to family and all around of it). Especially as messages are basically always the same....in positive points and negative points.
