Default Why do many people label blatantly mixed-race people as 'Black'? (Especially in the US)

Many 'Black' Americans in particular are blatantly mixed-race and should be regarded as such, yet we only notice their Afro ancestry. Some examples of blatantly mixed-race Americans who are labelled as 'Black' and in some cases have played fully Black people in acting roles:

    Halle Berry

    Karyn Parsons

    Faith Evans

    Etta James

    Tia and Tamera Mowry

Most famously of all, Barack Obama

Personally, I prefer the Latin American attitude that mixed-race people are regarded and acknowledged as being, well, mixed-race and not one group or the other.

For me they are so obviously black admixed that I just see them as black. Period.

It's the one drop rule. That law doesn't make any sense

All those people I posted are 30-50% Black, so why should we deny they are mixed (and very much look it too)?

I see it this way: The one drop rule is stupid as fuck, because according to that stupid rule, even somebody who's black admixture is to low to obviously show in phenotype they consider that person black regardless. However, when the black admixture is blatantly obvious, even though the person doesn't look full black, I just see them as black.

People who cannot pass at all in Sub Saharan Africa should not be labelled as 'Black', any more than people who cannot pass at all in Europe be labelled as 'White'.

That's just the way it is in America. In order for this to change mixed people would need to stop identifying themselves as Black.

This is simply how it works.

Even 3/4 European + 1/4 SSA identify itself as Black person.

I'm hardcore supporter of one drop rule and Europeans with partial non-European ancestry are not truly Europeans, but bi-racial/tri-racial.
