Ελληνοφωνοι είναι και η καταγωγή τους είναι από τα βυζαντινά χρόνια (διωγμοι κατά την εικονομαχεια).
Επίσης υπάρχουν χωριά με αλβανοφωνους που ήρθαν μετέπειτα κυρίως τον 15 και 16 αιώνα
