Yes they're and that's because they have less Slavic component than Eastern Germans.

Also Iberia is incomparable darker than Balkans.

I do not think so,, some German Swiss and Southern Germans are a but darker but I doubt there is a difference between East and West.

Difference between people who have never been to Germany, of course, is those who have been to Germany have more than google images to reference. But yes some western Germans can be darker. Unless all Germans, even the ones living right on the far eastern borders & the ones far north, have legitimate olive complexations that is.

I couldn't say but I have German Cousins. Their grandmother is from Berlin and Grandfather from Switzerland. My Swiss-German Uncle has very dark hair and looks Italian to me.

East and West overall....I don't really think so. North and South, there are definite differences.

Actually, Saxons (heavily mixed with Sorbs) are rather dark (see: Stefanie Kloß, Ulf Kirsten, Michael Ballack).

In general, Western Germans aren't darker, with the exception of the Southern parts of the Rhineland/Palatinate area, you even find proper Mediterranids there.

Then there is obviously an increase in darkness when going from North to the South, but there are areas in the South (and Austria) that are as light-pigmented as the North. There are also areas where people are pretty swarthy, but those are isolated islands (of course, these days not so isolated anymore, so it becomes more and more evened out). Cental-East areas of Germany are more swarthy, leads into the Czechs (who are pretty dark-pigmented, considering their geographical position).
