This is the most Oriental Turkish music i could find, this is Religious Sufi (Dervish) music.



Other music sounds completely alien to me.

Battiato is fashinwted with sufism. He made many voyages in turkey (i m not cultured yet about it, but I know the entire opera of this singer and all the themes he quotes most)

I'm talking based on the music you posted. İt sounds nothing turkish or sufi, neither the instruments or the rythm. You can write Turkish Sufi music on youtube and listen yourself. In the videoclip there is also only some arabs dancing in the desert so again nothing Turkish. Maybe this music is Arabic and in his other compositions he actually uses Sufi instruments like Ney.

Sufi Music is only a Branch of Turkish Music, religious branch like religious Catholic Music.
