Whether or not a Jew is atypical doesn't really have to do with whether or not they "look European." You can't really divide Ashkenazi Jews (or any Jews really) into European looking vs. Middle Eastern looking. Many could pass in 1-4 European countries as well as parts of West Asia. Many could only pass for Ashkenazi Jewish and maybe Turkish. If an Ashkenazi Jew could pass for Swedish, they are definitely atypical.
I really don't think there's a clear cut divide between "European looking" and "Middle Eastern looking" in general. When people say "Many Ashkenazi Jews can pass in Europe," they're equating the ones who look like Esti Ginzburg with the ones who could pass in Southern Italy as well as the Levant.
A lot of very typical Ashkenazi Jews don't have curly hair. I don't have curly hair and most of my family doesn't. I've seen Anglo-Saxons with curly hair before, and they just look like Anglo-Saxons with curly hair. I don't think Jared's hair is atypical in the slightest, but his facial features are definitely off.

Like I said a few pages earlier, I really don't like how this thread whitewashes Ashkenazim. The majority of the people posted in this thread are half breeds and so they do not represent what Ashkenazi Jews (or any Jews) look like. And the ones who aren't half breeds are often atypical.
Like of course Ashkenazim who don't look Central/Northern European are still "white passing" by US standards, but fully blooded Ashkenazim rarely look this "Northern." I dunno it just makes me really sad to be misrepresented as Anglo-looking.

It is amazing I was not the one who opened this thread! I didn't know "JILF" was a thing, I thought it was a word I inveted to mock on my Jewish friends.
