Default Slavic countries with Greco-Latin names

For those of you from Slavic countries with Greco-Latin names, what do you think of your country's name? Should it be fully Slavic or should it keep the Greco-Latin suffix?

    Slavic countries

    | English : Native language |
    • Belarus : Беларусь (Biełaruś)
    • Bosnia & Herzegovina : Боснa и Херцеговина (Bosna i Hercegovina)
    • Bulgaria : България (Bǎlgariya)
    • Croatia : Hrvatska
    • Czechia : Česko
    • Macedonia : Македонија (Makedonija)
    • Montenegro : Црна Гора (Crna Gora)
    • Poland : Polska
    • Russia : Росси́я (Rossíya)
    • Serbia : Србија (Srbija)
    • Slovakia : Slovensko
    • Slovenia : Slovenija
    • Ukraine : Україна (Ukrajina)

The red indicates the country's name is not fully Slavic and I bolded the non-Slavic (Greco-Latin) part. For those of you from those countries, do you think the name of the country should be changed so that it is fully Slavic? For example: Slovenija → Slovenska, Македонија → Македонска, etc.

The "Herzeg" in B&H's name is from German, but that seems like a separate issue so I didn't mention it.

I know this is an unimportant and minor topic, but it was just some minor thing that I noticed and I was wondering if there was anyone from those countries that had an opinion on this.

Interestingly enough, the Czech Republic did this before:

Several variants of the name have been used over the centuries, due to the evolution of the Czech language. The digraph "cž" was used from the time of the 16th-century Bible of Kralice until the reform of 1842, being eventually replaced by "č" (changing Cžechy to Čechy). In the late 19th century the suffix for the names of countries changed from -y to -sko (e.g. Rakousy-Rakousko for Austria, Uhry-Uhersko for Hungary). While the notion of Česko appears for the first time in 1704, it only came into official use in 1918 as the first part of the name of the newly independent Czechoslovakia (Česko-Slovensko or Československo) . Within that state, the Czech Socialist Republic (Česká socialistická republika, ČSR)[9] was created on 1 January 1969.[13] On 6 March 1990 the Czech Socialist Republic was renamed the Czech Republic (Česká republika, ČR).[6] When Czechoslovakia broke up in 1993, the Czech part of the name was intended to serve as the name of the Czech state. The decision started a dispute as many perceived the "new" word Česko, which before had been only rarely used alone, as harsh sounding or as a remnant of Československo.[14] The older term Čechy was rejected by many because it was primarily associated with Bohemia proper and to use it for the whole country was seen as inappropriate. This feeling was especially prominent among the inhabitants of Moravia.

They should keep these suffixes, no reason to change it.

I didn't include Republika Srpska as it is not an independent country. Although it is interesting that they use the Slavic suffix in their name whereas their fatherland (Serbia) uses the Greco-Latin suffix.

One doesn't need direct contact with Greeks or Romans to adopt that suffix. The Latvian name for Latvia is Latvija that was adopted later under influence from Latin (probably through Poland or Germany). The Polish name for England is Anglia which is Latin. A lot of Latin and Greek loanwords exist in Baltic and Slavic languages that didn't have direct contact with the Romans and Greeks.

I haven't found any sources that say the Srobs called their land Sorbja, but Wikipedia says they called their land Luzicu ("Lusatia").

But anyways, the -ia/ija/ja suffix is obviously from Latin influence (although ultimately of Greek origin).

One other thing not mentioned here. The ethnonym 'Russian' itself is a Germanic loan in its origin. Cognate to how Finns call the Swedes today 'Ruotsi'.
