What Italians?

Italians were invented few hundred years ago.

The nation was called Lombardy cause it was settled and conquered by Germans, those people then conquered Rome in 7th century, usurped Papacy from Constantinople and created "Italian" Nation.

Modern Italians.... except those people in south are mixed with Germanic people on a large scale.

I look at Italians as being Italians,, I would not consider them Germanic. I have plenty of lighter featured Italian relatives and they are still Italians not Germanics. Also Normans which were a Germanic Tribe were all over Southern Italy and Sicily,, it still does not mean they are Germanics.

No, it's not his opinion. Catalonians aren't of Italian descent. They don't even speak an Italian language now or ever. I've never heard anyone make such a claim before. You must have confused them with another group.
