    Question How Amerindian are Acadians?

I've heard that they can range from 2% to 30% Amerindian.

But what is the average score?

Does anyone have Acadian DNA results or GEDmatch kits?

Former Canadian PM Paul Martin, Acadian, has Amerindian Y-DNA C3b. Many Acadians also carry Native mtDNA.

I have French ancestry from Quebec so probably correlates with Acadian ancestry, but the mt-dna grouping wasn't Amerindian (T2b3b).
“The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.”

I think that the highest % of Acadians is in New Brunswick (30% of its total population).

In Quebec Acadians are just 1%. In Nova Scotia - 6%.

    Prince Edwards Island - 1%
    Maine - about 1%
    Massachusetts - 1%

Cajuns (7% of Louisiana) are also of Acadian descent.

Nope, Acadians are only 1% in Quebec. It is not a synonym of French Canadians.

My paternal side is partially Cajun and my DNA test indicates either none or around 2%-3% Amerindian.

Meh, Cajuns are no more Amerindian admixed than the rest of the population. Indians were not seen as welcome members of White families even as late as the sixties, and referred to derogatorily as Redbones, mixed or not. It wasn’t exactly like the one-drop rule but rather the “best not” rule. They were quite well aware of their Norman, et al, Northern French roots.

You should probably tell that to the thousands upon thousands of Indian who intermarried with white families in the 1700s and 1800s. And no, the Cajuns aren't Northern French, though Im sure some lines can be traced back to there. A lot were Basque, Irish, Scottish, Yankee, Spanish, Italian, and yes, Amerindian, primarily Metis and some tribes in Louisiana.

Acadians intermarried with Indians already back in the 1600s:
